Why choose LifeClass as your safe destination?

The last two years have caused us great surprises, even in the field of travel. At LifeClass Portorož Hotels, we constantly strive to make your vacation truly safe. To this end, we have updated our already established hotel standards and added even stricter measures that are in line with global safety standards and hygiene protocols. In cooperation with the Slovenian Tourist Board, we have obtained the GREEN & SAFE logo in 2021, which is recognized by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC). You can therefore be worry-free during your holiday with us.

The safety of guests and employees is paramount in LifeClass Portorož Hotels

Check below to see what key steps we are taking to prevent the spread of Covid-19 virus infections.

Room disinfection

After carrying out the established procedure of room cleaning, all critical points (marked with a blue dot in the photo) are additionally disinfected with disinfectants. To do this, we use a special device called a "fogger." The device creates a mist in the room and ensures that the disinfectant also reaches inaccessible surfaces. Once the hotel room is disinfected, the staff will not enter it until the guest arrives. Due to this thorough cleaning, the rooms are only available after 2 p.m. on the day of arrival. To avoid crowds in the reception area upon check-in at the hotel, we recommend that you decide to arrive between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m.

How we implement measures in other areas

1. Our shared responsibility
  • We always ensure the tidiness of the premises. Impeccable cleanliness and disinfection of surfaces have been high on the list of our priorities and part of the established hotel standards, which we have consistently implemented since the establishment of LifeClass Portorož Hotels. In order to protect the health of our employees and guests and on the basis of instructions from the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ), we have added some new measures this year, which are presented below.
  • We have implemented stricter safety and hygiene measures at all levels, which are in accordance with the General Hygiene Recommendations of the National Institute of Public Health (NIJZ) during the epidemic: https://www.nijz.si
  • We have developed tools and approaches to effectively inform and raise awareness of our guests and employees. We provide appropriate instructions regarding moving around the premises (appropriate distance, hygiene, use of protective equipment) and clarity of rules. We urge our guests, visitors and employees to follow the recommendations in order to protect your and our health.
  • We are committed to supervising all procedures and protocols in order to provide our guests with a carefree vacation in complete safety, and for our employees to be able to safely perform their work.
  • We have rearranged the smaller common areas in such a way that they provide the recommended safety distance.
2. Employees

Our health ambassadors

  • We ensure the safety and health of our employees. We limit their stays in the common areas and the performance of group work, determine appropriate ways for them to enjoy lunch, and where possible, enable them to work from home and reassign certain work tasks.
  • We have equipped the work areas with protective surfaces, disinfectants and protective equipment.
  • We provide employees with free testing for the presence of Covid-19 within the company premises. Only healthy employees and outsourcers are allowed to come to work, with no symptoms of Covid-19 and no fever. We have thermal cameras installed at the service entrances, which enable daily monitoring of body temperatures.
  • If respiratory symptoms in guests or employees are detected, we use appropriate protocols that allow testing for virus infection, isolation and the special treatment of the patients.
  • We regularly educate our employees in accordance with the internal educational programs on protection, hygiene and safety in accommodation and catering establishments.
  • For additional information regarding security measures and the services of LifeClass Portorož Hotels, the LifeClass consultant, Denis, at: 040 457 446 is at the guests' disposal.
3. Reservation
  • Before arriving at the hotel, you will receive an e-mail with access to a form through which you can manage your check-in process.
  • We enable guests to enforce the LifeClass Covid guarantee. Read more about the guarantee on the page 'Why book with us?'
4. Reception

Quick check-in

  • In order to protect the health of guests and employees and to ensure stricter hygiene measures, we have enabled more flexible check-in and check-out measures for guests at the receptions of our hotels. We have introduced a "quick check-in" (registration via the form received from the reservation service) and a "later check-in" when there are fewer guests at the receptions.
  • We have additionally equipped the reception desks with protective glass screens, which enable safe communication between guests and employees. The prescribed safety distance between individuals in the queue in front of the reception is at least 1.5 m. The tables and chairs in the common areas are also arranged at the same distance.
  • We recommend payments with credit cards or other forms of contactless payment.
  • Contactless, sensor driven disinfectant hand dispensers are installed at the reception and in the hotel lobby.
  • We disinfect the reception desks and other areas in the common areas several times a day and ensure regular ventilation.
  • We have restricted the use of paper and pencils. In the interest of health, we have removed printed brochures and menus and replaced them with plastic ones, which can be easily disinfected. Tourist information is available at the reception of your hotel, and information about our offers can also be accessed via QR codes. You can find these in prominent places in the hotel resort, simply scan them with your mobile device and the information you need will appear on your screen.
5. Hotel room

Impeccably clean

  • We regularly disinfect shared items. Room keys, chip bracelets, parking cards, remote controls, room phone and curtains, which are intended for multiple use, are thoroughly disinfected after the departure of each guest and prepared for your arrival.
  • We have identified 8 critical points in the hotel room with which guests have the most contact, and we additionally clean and disinfect them. After the established procedure of room cleaning, all critical points are additionally disinfected with disinfectants. To do this, we use a special device called a "fogger." The device has a certificate for antiviral activity, it creates a mist in the room and ensures that the disinfectant also reaches inaccessible surfaces. Once the hotel room is disinfected, it is thoroughly ventilated and the staff do not enter it until the guest arrives. Due to the thorough cleaning, the rooms are only available after 2 p.m. on the day of arrival. During cleaning, the guests wait in reception and do not enter the room during the process. We recommend that you decide to arrive at the hotel between 3 p.m. and 7 p.m., as this will allow enough time to elapse between room disinfection and your arrival.
  • We have established a special protocol for washing linen and transporting bedding to the laundry and back. Bedding, towels and bathrobes are washed at high temperatures.
  • We have removed all decorative pillows, bedspreads and printed items that are not intended for single use from your hotel room. The mini bar can be filled only at the request of the guest.
  • To ensure complete privacy and a carefree holiday, we offer the option to cancel room cleaning services during your stay. If guests opt for this option, we still advise them to regularly ventilate their room to ensure the circulation of the fresh and healing sea air.
  • For more information on what you can do for your own safety and health while staying at the resort, see your copy of the LifeClass Safety Guide.
6. Hallways and lobbies

Surface disinfection

  • Dispensers for hand disinfectants can be found in all common hotel rooms, at reception, in front of elevators, in restaurants and in Terme Portorož. They are always filled and ready to use.
  • We have increased the frequency of disinfection in all interior areas of the hotel resort, especially rooms that are used several times a day. We thus disinfect door handles, room keys, reception rooms and dining rooms even more often.
  • Special attention is paid to the disinfection and the use of toilets and elevators. The latter are disinfected at least six times a day. To dry your hands, you will find disposable paper towels in the restrooms instead of towels. Guests are asked to use the elevators only with the people they share a room with. Be sure to disinfect your hands before and after using the elevator.
7. Restaurants

No crowds in restaurants

  • To avoid crowds in hotel restaurants, we will assign you to a group for breakfast and dinner upon arrival at the hotel. Please keep to the assigned meal hours, as this will help reduce the number of people in one room. The prescribed safety distance between individuals while waiting to enter the dining room is at least 1.5 m.
  • Entry into the dining room is only possible with prior hand disinfection, use of a protective mask, and you are asked to serve your food in disposable gloves, which are placed in visible places. The distance between the tables is precisely determined (at least 1.5m), so please do not join them or move the chairs. Tables and chairs are thoroughly disinfected after the guests leave the restaurant.
  • We have installed safety glass shields on the self-serving buffet for greater safety. Contactless sensor driven hand disinfectants are installed in prominent places in the restaurant.
  • We regularly disinfect all common areas, tables and chairs and beverage dispensers.
  • Food is prepared and served in accordance with strict safety protocols. Meals are also offered as room service or as "lunch-to-go."
  • Dishes, utensils and tablecloths are washed and disinfected in the appropriate machines.
  • Information on additional food and beverage offerings can be accessed via QR codes, which are placed in prominent places in the restaurant.
  • To pay for a drink or food upon order, we advise debiting the room bill or using contactless payment methods.
8. Exercise and recreational activities
  • All exercise programs are designed in such a way that we can meet the safety requirements and other hygiene recommendations.
  • The objects and accessories used during exercises are disinfected after each activity.
  • We try to organise most of the activities outdoors.
9. Wellness centres
  • Only healthy guests, visitors, external contractors and employees without signs of respiratory infection, malaise and other symptoms can enter Terme Portorož. The elderly and patients with chronic non-communicable diseases, with a higher risk of a more severe course of the disease, are advised not to visit during the COVID-19 epidemic. The daily number of visitors is limited.
  • Guests are asked to disinfect their hands before entering the wellness centre and to observe the interpersonal safety distance (at least 1.5 m) while waiting for their treatments.
  • You can access information about our health and wellness services via QR codes, which are placed in prominent places at all wellness centre receptions.
  • The wellness and medical staff wear protective masks and face visors during the treatments. The visors are properly disinfected before working with a client.
  • Massages are performed at the request of the guest with the help of protective gloves.
  • A disposable wooden stick for single use is used to apply the creams from the pots.
  • Bedding, towels and bathrobes are washed at high temperatures.
  • After each treatment, we disinfect work surfaces, devices and accessories. Disposable single use pads are discarded. The staff regularly disinfect their hands and the protective equipment.
  • All common areas are regularly and efficiently cleaned and ventilated in accordance with the Instructions for Ventilation of Premises Outside Medical Facilities at the Time of the Spread of the COVID-19 Infection.

General recommendations

  • Only enter the wellness centre if healthy and without signs of respiratory infections.
  • Only order a treatment when you have no signs of a respiratory infection. If you get sick in the meantime, please cancel the already agreed date.
  • Take only what you really need with you. Store bags in lockers or in designated areas.
  • Wear a mask throughout your visit to Terme Portorož, except for facial care. Proper installation and proper removal of the mask are required.

10. Pools (PRAMORJE / THERMAL PREHISTORIC SEA WATER and Sea Spa)

Also worry free in the pool and sauna

  • Guests are asked to disinfect their hands before entering the swimming pool, before and after using the sanitary facilities, and before and after using the changing cabins. For this purpose, non-contact sensor operated dispensers for hand disinfectants are installed in visible places.
  • It is necessary to maintain a suitable interpersonal distance while swimming and resting on deck chairs. The recommended distance during swimming is at least 1.5 meters (except for family members); in changing rooms, during showering, use of toilets, in front of the entrance to the swimming pool and on the sun terrace it is at least 2 meters. Deckchairs are also placed at this distance, so please do not move them. To avoid crowds, the daily number of visitors is limited.
  • Internal surfaces are regularly ventilated and additionally disinfected. Pillows and deckchairs are disinfected after each use and we make sure to mark those that are disinfected in such a way that visitors can easily find them. We also disinfect the handles of umbrellas and wardrobe lockers in the same way. The pool and pool areas, showers and toilets are disinfected even more often than usual.
  • Use of protective face masks covering the nose and mouth is mandatory when moving and staying in a closed public place while taking into account a safe interpersonal distance during the epidemic: when using sanitary facilities
    • when using changing rooms or changing cabins
    • when using catering activities
    • when using the facilities of rescuers and first aid staff
    • public baths staff in cases where, due to the nature of the work, they have to approach visitors and are unable to provide a minimum interpersonal distance. The measure does not apply in the case of rescue from the water.

  • Wear a mask throughout your visit to Terme Portorož. Proper placement and proper removal of the mask are required.
  • Do not touch your face, especially not the mouth, nose and eyes, before washing or disinfecting your hands.

Did you know?

There are no confirmed cases of the COVID-19 virus spreading to humans through bathing water. Proper management, disinfection and maintenance of bathing facilities destroys the viruses in the pool bathing water. British virologists from Imperial College London have discovered that chlorinated water kills the virus in 30 seconds.

11. The RVT rule

The certificates that meet the RVT rule

In order to stay in our resort, the EU Digital Covid Certificate or the RVT rule Certificate is no longer required. Nonetheless, there are still some rules to be respected within the resort.
