They raced towards Šared, enjoying breath-taking views from Savudrija to Triest and Venice before starting descent towards Izola. The half marathon lead the runners from Izola to Koper, and then back to Izola. In addition to Koper, the marathon runners had a chance of admiring the beauty of Piran before finishing the race in Izola.
The 2nd Istrian Marathon, which took place on a warm spring day, attracted over three thousand racers. Among the runners were also Lorela Dobrinja, CEO of Istrabenz Turizem d.d., and President of Slovenia Borut Pahor who both ran the half marathon.
