Knowledge of Life

Ayurveda is a ''knowledge of life'' that approaches life as a harmonic combination of the body, senses, spirit and the intellect.

It is an ancient Hindu method of medical treatment. Nowadays Ayurveda is an integral part of the Indian national medical network, a subject of scientific research, and a field of study at many higher education institutions and universities around the world.

Ayurveda presents the collection of principles for maintaining health of healthy people, and at the same time, it offers many therapeutic methods of medical treatment. It gives special significance to prevention. Thus, it has gradually developed a total analytical system, which enables detecting changes in health much sooner, before the symptoms of disease arise. Thereby it enables the selection of the most suitable preventive therapeutic procedures.

It is a holistic approach looking for the balance of the three basic life principles called doshas: Kapha, Vata and Pitta in every individual. Their balance means health and a full life.

At the Shakti - Ayurveda Centre, we offer a variety of Ayurvedic treatments that are based on traditional knowledge. We perform them with the approach and quality standards appropriate for European guests

Authenticity and highest quality of the performance of therapies is guaranteed by the doctor of Ayurvedic medicine Ms Kavitha Gopalan Shyamala.

Treatments are performed by certified therapists from India and professional Ayurvedic therapists that gained their knowledge from Indian experts on Ayurveda with years of experience.

Three Doshas or Three Vital Energies

Three vital energies: Vata, Pitta and Kapha regulate all mental and physical activities of the body. They preserve the integrity of the body, and regulate the physical structure and mind processes.  A harmonised and balanced functioning of the doshas maintains life and good health, whereas their imbalance causes physical and mental problems.

The three doshas that are derived from five basic elements:

  • Vata – ether + air
  • Pitta – fire
  • Kapha – water + earth

In a healthy person, all three doshas are in balance. In order to maintain or to restore the balance, a diet tailored to each individual, a way of life and suitable treatments are of key importance.
