Walks description

Green oasis of peace - Strunjan

Let's take a look at picturesque Strunjan salt basins, the highest cliff of the Slovenian coast and much more...

We will take a walk past the Grand Hotel Palace and the Culture-Congress Centre Avditorij, through a disused tunnel of the narrow-track railway which 100 years ago connected Italy's Trieste and Croatia's Poreč.

The way will continue past terraced olive groves and get acquainted with local vegetation. At Strunjan salt basins we will learn about the processes of "white gold" extraction and shell growing.

Then we will climb to the church of Marian apparition from 1512 and continue to a large concrete cross, which is a famous positive energy point and is located in a spot that provides a beautiful view of the coast.

We will return on foot along the same way/or by bus on your request.

Sculpture and cactuses garden

Forma Viva – more than 120 stone sculptures in the open air is a creation of various artists from around the world.

We will take a walk along the coastal road, past tennis courts and Marina.

We will climb along the Lucija auto campsite to the green meadows of Forma Vive, in the rein of stone pieces of art surrounded with cypresses.

Once again we will take a look at white sailing boats and the Portorož Bay below us, and then we will descend past old and new olive groves to the garden of cactuses, which features one of the rarest species of those picturesque plants.

We will go back along the rocky coast, thorough the camp and past Portorož beaches.

Visit to Piran city walls

Mediaeval adventure with a view of Slovenian, Croatian and Italian coast.

Past the hotels Apollo, Neptun, and Mirna, we will climb to Beli Križ, continue past Piran graveyard, and then up the stairways to Piran city walls, where we will take our time to photograph the town below us. We will then descend down the narrow streets to Piran and through the city gates, discovering their stories.

We will go back on foot along the coast/or by bus on your request.

On the track of 100 year old »Parenzana«

We are taking a trip on food along the way where a narrow-track railway locomotive used to blow steam …

Past the Grand Hotel Palace and the Culture-Congress Centre Avditorij, we will continue our way along the narrow-track railway »Parenzana«, which between 1902 and 1935 connected coastal towns between Italy’s Trieste and Croatia’s Poreč. We will learn interesting things from the local life of then and now, and then go shopping in the shopping and business centre Lucija.

We will go back on foot along the coast / or by bus on your request.

Piran - a peral of Mediterranean

Arched windows, stone lace, small churches, squares and narrow streets are a postcard of Venetian Gothic art.

We will take a walk along the hotel beach, past salt storehouse – old Napoleon’s horse stables, through the tourist apartments Bernardin, with remains of a 14th century church, past a steep cliff, all the way to Piran.

Mediaeval streets will lead us along Venetian houses, churches, picturesque squares, museums and galleries.
Every 3rd Saturday in September, October and November, the attractions of Piran will include an antiquities fair.

We will go back on foot along the coast / or by bus on your request.
