You can walk along the Adriatic sea to the medieval town of Piran that, with its picturesque squares and churches, resembles an exhibition of Venetian-Gothic architecture.

If you go in the opposite direction, you will come to Forma Viva – an open-air gallery in a cypress grove - where you can observe stony sculptures or admire the view of Portorož bay.

You can also go over the hill to Fiesa – a natural park with two ponds, through the tunnel to Strunjan salt-pans, or elsewhere into the Slovenian hinterlands. The Portorož area is a real treasurechest that hides many jewels that you may never find on your own.

Cycling does not offer only recreation; it is a special way of motion. On a bicycle you are fast enough to reach farhter off places than on foot which is combined with numerous sightseeing opportunities that you cannot experience from a car.
