Concert of classical and folk Hungarian music

On 5 June at 20.30 hours. you are kindly invited to a concert of the most beautiful classical and folk Hungarian music performed by the Bartok Quartet, the band Muzsikás and singer Maria Petras.

The established musicians of the Bartók Quartet have been performing since 1957. Before their 40th anniversary they performed at approximately 3,600 concerts all around the world. They were frequent guests at many festivals; in Adelaide, Ascona, Aix-en-Provence, Dubrovnik, Edinburgh, Helsinki, Luzern, Prague, Schwetzingen, Spoleto, Vienna and Venice. They also performed at the opening ceremony of the Sydney Opera House and in 1970 at the UN event on the Human Rights Day. The quartet performed on all five continents, collaborated with several national and international music companies and was granted the Bartók Award; they received the Kossuth Award twice and were also awarded by the UN.

In 2008, Muzsikás were granted the flattering title of the WOMEX Award for World Music winners. After thirty-five years Muzsikás are the most known and popular Hungarian folk music performers at home and abroad. They made the Hungarian folk music recognisable internationally, making it equal to other genres. Due to their unique musical skills, knowledge and instrumental versatility, they perform a wide repertoire of music – from folk to classical, jazz and alternative rock music. Muzsikás also performed at festivals in almost all European countries, North America, in Japan, Australia, New Zealand, Hong Kong, Singapore and Taiwan.
