We cordially invite you to join us for a celebration of the 8th Salt-pan Festival, which will take place on 24 and 25 April.

The Festival will begin in Piran on Saturday at 9.00 with the open doors day at the Piran museums. One-day Salter workshop will also start at 9.00 and you will be able to visit the Salt-pan Museum in Sečovlje free of charge. Children will be able to participate in creative workshops, the mothers will make a trip to the fair of antiquities, handicrafts and gifts of the nature and the fathers will, among other things, visit the exhibition of oldtimers in front of the Tartini Theatre. Majority of the events will be set in the medieval town of Piran, where the formal opening of the festival will take place on Saturday at 12.00. It will be accompanied by performances of music groups, culture and art associations and presentations of salters' families. A speech will be held by the mayor of Piran, Mr. Tomaž Gantar.

On Sunday, 24 April, the festival will begin at 9.00 with the promenade concert at the Tartini Square, which will be followed by the Saint George procession. The mass in the parochial church of St. George will be held by the Koper bishop, Msgr. Metod Pirih. We will spend the Sunday afternoon at Sečovlje salt pans, to where a free of charge bus transfer will be organised for all visitors between 12.30 and 13.00 from Piran. We will enjoy the sounds of the Istrian music group Vruja, and we will be able to rest our eyes while visiting the "Salt and Goods of Slovenia" Market.
