The Fifth Blue Flag for the Meduza Exclusive Beach

Portorož, 17. 6. 2014

The most wonderful beach in the Adriatic now prides itself on the swimming water of the highest quality as well as winning its fifth Blue Flag.

Every year, the Slovenian Environment Agency monitors the quality of swimming water in Slovenia. Samples of the swimming water are taken during the bathing season that lasts from 1 June to 15 September on the coast. Under the Decree Concerning the Management of Bathing Water Quality the swimming water of the Meduza Exclusive Beach has been awarded three stars – the highest award for water quality.

In addition, the Blue Flag has been flying on the Meduza Exclusive Beach for the fifth year in a row, thus symbolising the excellence of our beach's water.
The Blue Flag is an environmental award presented to 3849 beaches and marinas in 46 countries across Europe, Africa, New Zealand, Brazil, Canada and the Caribbean.  This is an internationally recognised environmental award for the sustainable management of beaches and marinas designed to promote environmental awareness on beaches, (co)shaping environmental ethics, as well as promoting environmentally responsible behaviour. The Blue Flag programme is a programme of The Foundation for Environmental Education (FEE), a non-governmental and non-profit organisation. In Slovenia, it is implemented by the DOVES - Slovenian Foundation of Environmental Education in Europe and FEE International, a full member of FEE.

We take great pride in offering our guests during their holidays on the most beautiful Adriatic beach the highest quality of the swimming water, environmental education and safety.
